It's a Sad Day…

It's a sad day when you're watching The Office and you realize that you can identify with one of the characters…

…but it's not Jim or Pam.

Or even Ryan.

The truth hurts. It really hurts.

We're about 10 or 12 episodes in and I watch each one with my hands over my face, peaking through my fingers. Wow; it's like rubbernecking at a traffic accident.

The Office is my favorite tv show of all time. I am a little obsessed...the office day by day calendar (extremely funny) and a Dunder Mifflin T-shirt. The show just gets better and better as the seasons progress!

Which character do you identify with? According the the personality test on NBC.com...I'm most like Jim. Go figure! I'm glad you are beginning the office journey. It is a good one!!

If it's Creed, something's wrong. :)

Hey, someone's gotta be Dwight, ya know.

My actual guess is that it's not Dwight or Angela either.

I would agree. Probably not Stanley. He hasn't got to Andy yet. That only leaves Michael, Oscar, and Kevin as the guys. Not sure he would identify with any of the other ladies. I guess I did forget Toby. Hmmm....who could it be!

Let's just say that The Office encourages people to be more self-aware (and self-conscious) than we'd be otherwise.

I tested as a split personality between Ryan and Angela but it's the individual quirks and missteps of half a dozen characters that makes me want to carry written apologies around with me.

If it makes you feel that bad about it, just remember that actors are trained in the art of heightening reality. Playing up the little quirks of society and exaggerating them, and what you see is not what it is, merely a caricature of society. So yes, objects in mirror ARE closer than they appear.

And if that makes you feel better about it, remember that they then go out and eat the best food money can buy before returning to their incredible luxury homes and falling asleep on their designer sheets.

I took the test and I was Pam. I was pretty happy with that. :)

Dwight?

Nerdiness? Yes.
Backward Sycophant? Not so much.
