Of all the things that I didn't need to teach to my children, the only good good one was dancing.
I didn't have to teach them to be selfish or to lie or to fight with their siblings. They somehow knew how to disobey and exaggerate and talk back without ever being trained. But all of that fades when music is played and my two-year old daughter dances and twirls with abandon. All five of my children knew how to do this from their earliest years; these are unashamed and innocent expressions of joy.
Thank you, Lord, that even in our brokenness there is a remnant of your likeness in us.
