For some unknown reason, Hollywood is remaking the The Thin Man, a movie that really, really doesn't need to be remade. Nevertheless, Johnny Depp is attached to play the lead, Nick Charles, a role made famous by William Powell. These characters, Nick and his wife, Nora, are so perfect as they were portrayed by Powell and Myrna Loy that I can't imagine why any contemporary actor would try to improve on it.
